1 Hospitalized after in Merced Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 99
MERCED, CA (July 21, 2021) – Tuesday morning, authorities arrested Alexis Ramirez after an injury crash on Highway 99.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on Highway 99 at around 1:20 a.m.
Reports revealed that a vehicle struck the back of a vehicle towing a utility trailer that pulled over for some issues. The force of the crash pushed the utility trailer into the back of the truck. Then, it pinned the driver who was checking the vehicle.
Furthermore, the driver of the causing vehicle, Alexis Ramirez, fled on foot after the collision.
Meanwhile, responders rushed the 25-year-old male victim to a hospital with severe injuries.
Moreover, Merced Sheriff Department with the help of witnesses managed to locate Ramirez in a grassy field.
Also, officials arrested Ramirez after being treated in a hospital for minor injuries. Authorities booked Ramirez into Merced County Jail and charged him with felony driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and felony hit and run charges.
The incident is under investigation.
