Jessica Barksdale Injured and Alexis Flores Dead on Westbound 60 Freeway near Brea Canyon Road On-Ramp
DIAMOND BAR, CA (January 14, 2018) – Two young women were involved in a fatal accident on the 60 freeway at 6:25 PM on Sunday night.
A 1998 Toyota 4Runner was driving westbound on the 60 freeway by 18-year-old Jessica Barksdale of Chino, with 18-year-old Alexis Flores of Ontario as a passenger.
According to CHP officer Alex Rubio, another vehicle made a lane change in front of the Toyota, Barksdale tried to avoid a collision and lost control of the car. The 4Runner overturned and the other vehicle continued to drive on. Barksdale sustained minor injuries, while Flores had major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. She later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Brea Canyon Rd on-ramp and the transition road from northbound 57 freeway to the westbound 60 freeway was temporarily closed while authorities investigated and the roadway was cleared.
