3 People Dead in Murrieta DUI Accident on Interstate 215 and Interstate 15
MURRIETA, CA (January 17, 2023) – Monday morning, authorities arrested Alexia Rodriguez following a fatal DUI crash on Interstate 215 and Interstate 15.
The incident happened at around 4 a.m. on the southbound Interstate 215 connector to southbound Interstate 15.
According to Officer Mike Lassig, a 2008 Dodge Charger lost control and veered off the roadway. Then, it collided with a metal pole before erupting into flames. Then, authorities confirmed that two occupants of the Charger were ejected into the roadway during the incident.
Moreover, responders pronounced the two victims dead at the scene. Then, authorities said the Charger driver, 21-year-old Alexia Rodriguez managed to extricate herself from the burning vehicle. However, a third passenger died inside the Charger. Also, paramedics transported Rodriguez to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar and later to Arrowhead Regional Burn Center with serious burn injuries.
Furthermore, officers said that Rodriguez is under arrest and will be facing multiple charges of felony gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI.
Meanwhile, the incident remained under active investigation.
