Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 160 Claims Life of Sherman Woman
Whitewright, TX (November 2, 2024) On Saturday morning, 29-year-old Alexandria Pierce of Sherman was declared dead after a 3-car crash on State Highway 160.
According to the Texas DPS, the deadly collision happened south of Whitewright near Desert Lake Road around 7:30 a.m.
Reports say that the fatal three-vehicle collision occurred on State Highway 160 led to the highway’s closure until noon.
Texas DPS reported that Pierce was driving south on the highway when she failed to slow down for a pickup truck stopped to make a left turn onto Desert Lake Road. Pierce’s SUV collided with the trailer the truck was towing, causing her vehicle to veer into the northbound lane. An oncoming pickup truck then struck her SUV.
The impact ejected Pierce from her vehicle, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries were reported for individuals in the other vehicles.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Whitewright Emergency Responders, and Texas DPS Highway Patrol all responded to the scene.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Alexandria Pierce. May they find peace and comfort during this difficult time.
