Young Boy Alexanders Bedolla Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck at Santa Clara and 24th Streets
SAN JOSE, CA (June 22, 2019) – A 3-year-old boy was struck and killed by a passing vehicle when the toddler exited a car in a San Jose parking lot Saturday morning, according to police.
The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Alexanders Bedolla of San Jose.
The fatal incident happened around 10:00 a.m. at the southwest corner of Santa Clara and 24th streets, a few blocks from the Five Wounds Church.
Police said Alexanders Bedolla and his mother had pulled into a parking lot near a business. After that, the child got out of parked car and walked into the lot. At that moment, a 2012 Nissan pickup truck was moving through the parking lot and hit the child.
The driver transported the boy and his mother to Santa Clara Valley Regional Medical Center. The child was later moved to Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, where he succumbed to his injuries.
