Alexander Rivera Dies in Suspected DUI Accident on Highway 41 in Fresno
Fresno, CA (May 5, 2020)– On Tuesday morning, 21-year-old Alexander Rivera died while another three passengers sustained injuries in an auto crash on Highway 41.
The California Highway Patrol responded after receiving crash reports at around 2 a.m. on May 5. Dispatched officers arrived to Highway 41 southbound, just north of Shaw Avenue.
Reportedly, Rivera drove a Nissan with his three passengers, travelling southbound on Highway 41 when he lost control and overturned on the right side of the freeway, ending in the embankment.
Due to the extent of his injuries, paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene, while the three others were transported to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Moreover, CHP officials believe alcohol was a potential factor in the crash.
Furthermore, authorities closed all three southbound lanes during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, it has since reopened.
