Alex Rey of Rialto Dies in Vehicle Crash on Interstate 215 [Riverside, CA]

Riverside, CA (July 17, 2024) – 36-year-old Alex Rey of Rialto was killed in a vehicle crash on Interstate 215 early Tuesday morning.

It was past 2 a.m. when the collision happened on the northbound freeway approximately half a mile north of the 60/91/215 interchange.

Troopers said five separate collisions involving seven vehicles occurred quickly.

The drivers of a 2014 Kenworth tractor-trailer and a 2023 Nissan sedan were stopped in traffic when a 2009 Mercury SUV failed to see the stopped vehicles ahead of him and rear-ended the semi, then the Nissan.

Responding authorities declared Alex Rey deceased at the scene.

Moreover, the trucker and the Nissan driver incurred minor injuries but were not hospitalized. 

The authorities are investigating the fatal traffic collision.
