17-Year-Old Pronounced Dead after Highway 168 Car Collision near Tollhouse
Fresno County, CA (April 22, 2020) – Wednesday afternoon, 17-year-old Alex Ounmano, of Clovis, died while another woman sustained injuries in an auto collision on Highway 168.
Authorities responded after receiving crash reports around 2:00 p.m., on April 22. Emergency personnel arrived on Highway 168 near Tollhouse, in the foothills.
According to reports, Ounmano and his passenger were on a street race with two other cars going downhill about 85 to 100 MPH when their car drifted and hit the mountainside.
Due to the impact, two occupants were ejected from their vehicle. Ounmano died at the scene while his passenger sustained severe injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for immediate aide.
Meanwhile, the other car stayed on scene while the other sped away. Furthermore, authorities confirmed the accident was a single-vehicle crash.
The surrounding area on Highway 168 was blocked off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened.
No further information has been released.
