Alex Marroquin Arrested in DUI Car Collision on Avenue 48 and Dune Palms Road [La Quinta, CA]

1 Detained and 1 injured in La Quinta Car Accident

 
LA QUINTA, CA (May 3, 2019) – A person sustained injuries after a DUI car collision involving an intoxicated driver on May 1.
 
Authorities suspect 54-year-old Alex Marroquin of Indio hit a car at 4:30 p.m. on Avenue 48 near Dune Palms Road.
 
According to the La Quinta Police Department officers, Marroquin traveled east in a Silver Nissan truck. However, Marroquin didn’t stop at the red light.
 
Furthermore, the truck crashed with a Nissan Altima, and its driver suffered moderate injuries. Meanwhile, Medical responders transported the other driver to a hospital.
 
The authorities believed that the uninjured Marroquin drove under the influence during the crash. Therefore, they arrested Marroquin 45 minutes after the accident happened.
 
About 9:30 p.m., police booked Marroquin to Indio jail. However, they released him on Thursday morning on $50,000 bail.
