21-Year-Old Chino Hills Man Dies in Late Evening Street Race Crash in Walnut
WALNUT, CA (October 24, 2019) – Los Angeles County Coroner’s office identified the man who was killed in a street race crash late Thursday evening as Alex Knox, 21, of Chino Hills.
Knox died at the scene around 11:30 p.m., about 10 minutes after the crash at Amar Road and Heidelberg Avenue.
According to investigators, Knox and the driver of a black Ford Mustang were seen revving up their engines before racing each other. Knox lost control of his car and struck a tree.
Investigators said the driver of the Mustang fled the area after the crash.
