FLORISSANT, MO (August 7, 2024) – Monday night, Alec Vahle died in a tragic motorcycle crash on Interstate 270 near Washington Street.

The incident happened at around 8:00 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 270, near Washington Street.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an eastbound motorcycle lost control for still unknown reasons and veered into the first lane of Pershall Road. Then, the motorcycle rear-ended a Volkswagen, ejecting the motorcyclist into the roadway.

Moreover, responders rushed the motorcyclist, identified as 21-year-old Vahle, to SSM Health DePaul Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, the crash closed eastbound Interstate 270 but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Missouri State Highway Patrol continued investigating the crash.
