Red Bluff, CA (November 27, 2024) – Aleah Calvery suffered severe injuries after being struck by a car following her shift last Tuesday night in Red Bluff.

Aleah Calvery, a nurse at Restpadd mental health clinic, was crossing the street in a crosswalk after finishing a 12-hour shift on November 19 when a speeding car hit her. 

Her parents, Amber and her husband, shared details of the incident during a Zoom interview with Northstate News’ Tyler Van Dyke. 

They also relayed a heartfelt message from Aleah, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support she’s received from her coworkers, friends, and medical team.

“Aleah wants to thank everyone who has supported her—from her coworkers and friends at Restpadd to the EMTs, doctors, and nurses who have cared for her,” her mother, Amber Calvery, shared.

Aleah’s parents described how the accident unfolded and credited the driver for stopping to call 911, a factor they believe prevented an even worse outcome.

“She had just finished her shift, stepped into the crosswalk, and was hit by a car going too fast,” Amber explained. “Thankfully, it wasn’t a hit-and-run. 

The driver stopped and called for help, which made all the difference.”

The impact left Aleah with multiple serious injuries, including a shattered tibia, broken ribs, a fractured pelvis and tailbone, and swelling on her skull.

Despite the severity of her injuries, Aleah remains optimistic. Her mother shared that Aleah is eager to recover and return to her job and the support of her coworkers and friends.

A GoFundMe has been set up to assist Aleah with medical expenses, reflecting the outpouring of support from her community.
