Injuries Reported in Irvine Auto Accident on 73 Toll Road and Campus Drive
IRVINE, CA (October 7, 2024) – Early Sunday, an alarming wrong-way crash on 73 Toll Road and Campus Drive injured 5 people.
The incident happened at about midnight on 73 Toll Road and Campus Drive.
Reports indicated that a Toyota Camry driver collided with a Lincoln MKZ traveling south on the toll road north of Campus Drive. Two young children and their mother, along with the driver and passenger of the Lincoln MKZ, were hospitalized with significant injuries, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Alexander Stirling.
The wrong-way driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Stirling reported. It was unclear which vehicle the mother and children were in.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
