1 Person Arrested in Morongo Valley Auto Accident on Twentynine Palm Highway near Rosella Drive

MORONGO VALLEY, CA (December 18, 2024) – Monday afternoon, an alarming traffic crash on Twentynine Palm Highway near Rosella Drive injured one person.

The incident started at around 12:55 p.m. when officers attempted to pull over a grey Corvette that was traveling at a high rate of speed.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, authorities started to chase the suspect vehicle but was canceled for public safety. Then, a California Highway Patrol officer located the suspect vehicle at Circle K on Twentynine Palm Highway, near Rosella Drive. The Corvette then rammed a California Highway Patrol unit then collided with a deputy’s patrol unit.

Moreover, responders transported a deputy to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers arrested and booked the 52-year-old driver of the Corvette into the West Valley Detention Center, pending charges.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
