2 Hurt in San Diego Auto Accident on Kearny Mesa Road near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 4, 2023) – Wednesday morning, an alarming police chase crash on Kearny Mesa Road injured 2 officers.
The incident started at around 12:30 a.m. when officers attempted a traffic stop on a Mercedes-Benz that ran a stop sign on Bancroft Drive.
According to La Mesa police Lt. Kathy Lynch, the Mercedes driver refused to stop and fled the scene in the wrong direction on state Route 125. Then, the suspect vehicle intentionally rammed a patrol vehicle on Kearny Mesa Road near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.
Moreover, responders transported two officers to a hospital with minor injuries.
Furthermore, authorities arrested and booked the Mercedes driver into jail on suspicion of felony evading and other charges.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
