1 Person Hurt in Santa Clarita Auto Accident near Via Princessa and Sierra Highway

SANTA CLARITA, CA (MARCH 13, 2024) – Monday afternoon, an alarming police chase crash near Via Princessa and Sierra Highway injured one person.

The incident started at around 3:20 p.m. at 14 Freeway near Newhall Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle that was reported stolen. Then, the vehicle fled the scene northbound onto the 5 Freeway and started a police pursuit.

Moreover, that pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle near Via Princessa and Sierra Highway. Then, three occupants of the suspect vehicle fled the scene on foot after the collision, but one suspect was apprehended.

Furthermore, responders transported an occupant of the vehicle that was struck by the suspects, to a hospital with unknown injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
