Injuries Reported in Perris Auto Accident on Placentia Avenue and Interstate 215

PERRIS, CA (August 3, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, an alarming pickup truck crash on Placentia Avenue and Interstate 215 injured 3 people.

It occurred at around 3:35 p.m. at the Placentia Avenue overcrossing at southbound Interstate 215.

According to reports, the driver of a black pickup lost control while driving on the overpass. Then, his vehicle plowed through a guardrail, leading the pickup to land in the No. 1 lane of southbound I-215.

Afterward, the red SUV crashed with the overturned pickup.

Riverside County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene 15 minutes later and located the pickup driver trapped.

Moreover, they shut down all southbound lanes just before 4 p.m. as crews extricated the motorist.

Then, the authorities issued a Sigalert due to the ensuing miles-long traffic jam. The lanes remained closed as of 4:30 p.m.

Then, responders transported the two occupants of the SUV and the pickup driver to a regional trauma center for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Due to the limited information available, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
