1 Person Hospitalized in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on University Avenue near 54th Street

SAN DIEGO, CA (April 9, 2024) – Sunday night, an alarming pedestrian crash on University Avenue near 54th Street injured one person.

The incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. on southbound University Avenue along the east side of 54th Street.

According to reports, a Toyota Camry struck a male pedestrian who was walking southbound and turned right, crossing the road at an angle and in front of the Camry.

Moreover, responders rushed the 35-year-old pedestrian to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Furthermore, authorities do not believe that alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
