1 Hurt in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Accident near Avalon Boulevard and 92nd Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 26, 2024) – Tuesday night, an alarming pedestrian crash near Avalon Boulevard and 92nd Street injured 1 person.
The crash happened when a red Lexus struck a pedestrian near Avalon Boulevard and 92nd Street. Then, it continued driving.
The victim was transported to a nearby trauma center, though their condition remains unknown. After striking a pedestrian, the suspect continued driving and collided with another motorist in a black sedan.
The pursuit ended at the intersection of 73rd and Avalon when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Meanwhile, the Lexus lost three tires during the chase, damaging its windshield and roof. The suspect was then handcuffed and transported by ambulance for a medical evaluation.
Reports confirmed that the chase began around 8 p.m. near the 405 and 110 freeways, with the suspect later reaching speeds of over 120 mph on the 60 Freeway in the San Gabriel Valley, narrowly avoiding other vehicles while weaving through traffic.
The California Highway Patrol indicated the driver was wanted in connection with an unspecified felony.
