Injuries Reported in Moorpark Auto Accident on Los Angeles Avenue and Tierra Rejada Road
MOORPARK, CA (June 20, 2024) – Last June 8, several people suffered injuries in an alarming hit-and-run crash on Los Angeles Avenue.
The incident occurred when a 29-year-old Moorpark resident failed to yield at a red light on Los Angeles Avenue and Tierra Rejada Road at about 9:44 p.m. As a result, his Ford Explorer collided with a Honda Odyssey, leading to several injuries.
A witness reported that the same Ford involved in the earlier crash also struck their dog in the 100 block of 2nd St. Sadly, the dog later died from its injuries at an emergency vet clinic, as detailed by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO).
Deputies later located the abandoned Ford in the 200 block of Ruth Ave. The vehicle showed significant damage from the initial crash and was seized as evidence.
The 29-year-old driver was arrested and booked on Friday into the Ventura Pre-Trial Detention Facility for felony and misdemeanor hit-and-run charges related to both incidents on June 8. He is set to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on June 28 at 8:15 a.m. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact Deputy Andrew Van Gundy at the Moorpark Police Department.
