1 Person Dead in Pleasanton Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 580 near Interstate 680

PLEASANTON, CA (October 26, 2023) – Monday morning, an alarming hit-and-run crash on Interstate 580 near Interstate 680 injured one person.

The incident happened at around 7:47 a.m. on westbound Interstate 580, east of Interstate 680.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck a pedestrian wearing a black sweater who was walking in the lanes for still unknown reasons. Then, the vehicle fled the scene westbound without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders transported the victim to a hospital with major injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities asked anyone with details about the crash to call the Dublin CHP office at (925) 828-0466.
