1 Person Hurt in Taft Bicycle Accident on Hillard Street and Rails To Trails
TAFT, CA (August 21, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, an alarming hit-and-run crash on Hillard Street and Rails To Trails injured one person.
The incident happened at around 5:00 p.m. on Hillard Street and Rails To Trails.
According to Sgt. Corey Beilby, a southbound SUV struck an eastbound dirt bike, then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.
Officers confirmed that the rider of the dirt bike sustained moderate injuries, but declined transport and further treatment.
Authorities said that the suspect vehicle is best described as a red or maroon SUV, possibly a Chevrolet.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
