Injuries Reported in Houston Pedestrian Crash on Chartres Street and Texas Avenue

HOUSTON, TX (August 3, 2023) – Tuesday night, 2 Houston Astros fans suffered injuries in an alarming hit-and-run crash on Chartres Street and Texas Avenue.

The crash occurred after a night of celebrating a historic win at around 9:45 p.m. According to reports, a hit-and-run driver struck two women just feet away from Minute Maid Park on Chartres Street and Texas Avenue.

Officers revealed that the street was filled with fans leaving the game. Then, the driver sped through the intersection of Chartres Street and Texas Avenue, just a block away from the ballpark, and struck the two women.

According to some witnesses, the suspect drove a Maroon Dodge Challenger and was weaving in and out of traffic, honking at people, before the crash.

After the crash, the driver failed to stop but witnesses obtained a partial license plate number. Also, the driver is currently facing charges of failure to stop and render aid.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the two women sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to be fine.

Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information about the driver to contact Houston Police Department.
