Injuries Reported in Los Angeles Pedestrian Accident on Central Avenue and Vernon Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 14, 2023) – Tuesday, an alarming hit-and-run crash on Central Avenue and Vernon Avenue injured 1 person.

The crash happened at about 6:00 a.m. on Central Avenue and Vernon Avenue.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, as a man walked in a crosswalk on a “walk” signal, a high-speed dark-colored vehicle didn’t yield at a red light and hit the pedestrian. The impact threw the pedestrian into the air until he landed on his head.

However, the suspect failed to stop and render aid.

When Los Angeles Fire Department arrived, they transported the pedestrian to a hospital where he underwent surgery for severe injuries. The hospital also listed the 40-year-old victim in critical condition.

Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed any details on the hit-and-run vehicle, except that it likely has a front end, hood, and possibly windshield damage.

Moreover, the city of Los Angeles offered a standing reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a hit-and-run driver.
