MONTEREY PARK, CA (May 21, 2023) – Saturday morning, an alarming hit-and-run crash on Atlantic Boulevard near 60 Freeway killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:36 a.m. on Atlantic Boulevard near the Pomona 60 Freeway overpass.

According to Sgt. Arlene Chaidez of the Monterey Park Police Department, an unknown vehicle struck a male pedestrian and then fled the scene without stopping.

Moreover, responding paramedics pronounced the victim, dead at the scene.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. Once additional information became available, the public will be notified.
