1 Person Hospitalized in San Jacinto Auto Accident near Ramona Expressway and Old Mountain Avenue
SAN JACINTO, CA (June 24, 2024) – Saturday night, an alarming hit-and-run crash near Ramona Expressway and Old Mountain Avenue injured one person.
The incident happened at around 10:05 p.m. near the intersection of Ramona Expressway and Old Mountain Avenue.
According to Sgt. Christopher Loucks, an eastbound blue Kia that was traveling at a high rate of speed attempted to pass and collided with a silver Chevrolet. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Chevrolet off the roadway and rolled over.
Paramedics rushed the driver of the Chevy to a hospital with critical injuries.
Officers confirmed that the driver of the Kia fled the scene of the crash before authorities arrived.
Meanwhile, the crash closed Ramona Expressway between Old Mountain Avenue and East Esplanade Avenue.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
