Injuries Reported in San Diego Pedestrian Accident near 3600 National Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (August 16, 2023) – Monday, an alarming hit-and-run crash near 3600 National Avenue injured 1 person.

The incident happened at about 9:00 p.m. near the 3700 block of National Avenue.

Reports revealed that the driver of a GMC Sierra drove west on National Avenue. Meanwhile, a 46-year-old man tried to cross National Avenue. Then, the truck in the westbound lane hit him, SDPD Watch Commander Robert Heims revealed.

After the crash, the driver veered left, hit a wall, and fled the scene.
Moreover, responders took the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with lung and multiple fractures. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening

Then, the authorities later found the GMC truck near the 3600 block of Logan Avenue.

Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information to contact SDPD’s Traffic Division at 858-495-7800 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
