SANTA BARBARA, CA (August 4, 2024) – Saturday morning, an alarming DUI crash on Yanonali Street and Calle Cesar Chavez injured one person.

The incident happened at around 4:00 a.m. at the intersection of Yanonali Street and Calle Cesar Chavez.

According to the Santa Barbara Police, a vehicle struck a pedestrian and crashed into a gas meter on the other side of the curb.

Moreover, responders transported the pedestrian to Cottage Hospital with moderate injuries.

Furthermore, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle for felony DUI and hit and run.

Meanwhile, the crash closed several roadways due to a significant gas leak. All lanes have long since reopened.
