CERES, CA (May 16, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, an alarming bicycle crash on Mitchell Road and Hatch Road injured 1 person.
The crash occurred at about 3:00 p.m. on Mitchell Road, north of Hatch Road.
According to reports, the bicyclist, a 59-year-old man, sustained major injuries when police arrived. Thus, the first responders treated him until being taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Officers confirmed that the bicyclist was crossing Mitchell Road at Adrien Way over the center median when he was struck by a Chevy Suburban heading north on Mitchell.
Moreover, the driver in the crash is cooperating with investigators, and police said alcohol was ruled out as a factor in the crash.
