Injuries Reported in San Antonio Traffic Crash on Interstate 35 South

SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 13, 2024) – Saturday night, a driver sustained injuries in an alarming auto accident on Interstate 35 South.

The incident happened when a small car crashed into an 18-wheeler at about 5:15 p.m. on Interstate 35 South at 1604.

Officials reported that a compact car collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer, resulting in the front half of the vehicle becoming lodged underneath. Firefighters successfully extricated the driver before requesting an airlift to take them to a nearby hospital for serious injuries.

To facilitate the airlift’s landing and takeoff, authorities closed portions of the road, rerouting northbound traffic to the access road. As of 6:45 p.m., emergency crews remained on site.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
