40-Year-Old Los Gatos Man Dies after Vehicle Crashes into Wall near Fremont Avenue
SUNNYVALE, CA (December 25, 2018) – A man was killed Tuesday evening following a single-vehicle crash near Fremont Avenue. The victim was later identified as 40-year-old Alan Wesley Willcox, a resident of Los Gatos.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 6:30 PM. A silver Toyota Rav4 was heading north on Highway 85 when it crashed into the concrete median.
Willcox got out of the car and walked across the southbound lanes before collapsing on the shoulder. The victim was found dead the next morning by a family member, who immediately called 911. It is unknown how the victim’s family was notified of the crash.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the wreck and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
