59-Year-Old Magalia Man Killed in Head-On Collision North of Airport Road
PARADISE, CA (March 5, 2018) – A two-car collision on Clark Road just north of Airport Road resulted in one dead and one injured, on Monday afternoon around 12:15 PM.
The Butte County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased man as 59-year-old Alan Dominguez of Magalia.
According to reports, Dominguez was driving in a 2014 Chevrolet Spark and traveling south on Clark Rd, when he drifted to the right for unexplained reasons. He overcorrected back to the left and crossed the double yellow line into the northbound lanes of traffic, where his vehicle collided head-on with a 2003 Nissan Murano.
The Nissan driver, 22-year-old Haley Shadwick of Oroville, suffered major injuries and was taken to the Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment. Dominguez sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the same hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police officials continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be contributing factors; no other information has been provided at this time.
