Two Vehicles Involved in Collision near 98th Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (June 6, 2019) – Airbags deployed in a two-car crash on northbound 880 Freeway, Thursday evening.
According to reports, the collision took place at approximately 10:59 PM. First responders arrived to the area near the 98th Avenue on-ramp shortly after.
Based on an initial report, two vehicles were involved in the incident. The vehicles were later identified as a silver Chevrolet Cruze and a Ford Escape.
The events leading up to the collision are currently unclear. However, the Escape was found with major front-end damage and the airbags inside the Chevy deployed as a result of the impact.
The paramedics were immediately called to the scene for needed medical attention. They later recorded multiple non-life-threatening injuries. However, there has been no update on their current medical condition at this time.
Furthermore, the on-ramp to 98th was also closed for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. Towing services were eventually requested due to the extent of damage.
An investigation still currently remains ongoing to verify the cause of the accident.
