Aide Bustamente Killed and 1 Detained after Downey Car Accident on 5 Freeway
DOWNEY, CA (May 25, 2020) – Saturday afternoon, Aide Bustamente and another person died in a hit-and-run crash on 5 Freeway.
California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig revealed that the crash occurred around 2:40 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway at the Paramount Boulevard offramp.
A dashcam video determined that a white car rear-ended a red car before the red car went out of control. The red car then went off the road and fell down an embankment until it hit a tree.
When the Downey Police Department officers arrived, they located the white car in the area of Florence Avenue and Studebaker Road, CHP Sgt. Adam Carmichael revealed.
“The driver was interviewed, detained and later arrested,” the sergeant added.

The CHP stated that Rencanzone reportedly escaped the scene on foot. Fortunately, a witness managed to follow him.
The police detained Cash Rencanzone on suspicion of hit-and-run. Moreover, investigators ruled out alcohol or drugs as a factor in the collision.
Furthermore, the officers identified the female driver of the 2004 Nissan Sentra as 32-year-old Aide Bustamente of Huntington Beach. However, the police didn’t disclose the identity of Bustamante’s male passenger.
