Aidan Keller Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Greenway Road [SURPRISE, AZ]

Teen on Scooter Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Greenway Road near Loop 303

 
SURPRISE, AZ (October 24, 2019) – A 15-year-old boy died in a pedestrian crash Thursday on Greenway Road near Loop 303.
 
Firefighters said the boy was crossing Greenway Road on a scooter when he was hit by a vehicle. He was dead when crews arrived at the scene.
 
The teen appeared to be in a crosswalk but it is not clear if the crosswalk said go, firefighters said.
 
Family members and school officials identified the victim as Aidan Keller, a student at e-Institute, a charter school in Chandler just feet away from the crash.
 
A school official said a counselor was on hand for other students. Keller had apparently just left the school when he was hit.
 
Family members had set up a GoFundMe for Keller’s funeral expenses.
 
It is unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. Surprise Police are handling the investigation.
