2-Year-Old Boy Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Accident near Chestnut Avenue in Fresno
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (May 14, 2020) – Tuesday evening, 2-year-old Aidan Gonzalvez was killed in a collision near Chestnut Avenue.
According to reports, the collision occurred near American Avenue around 8:30 p.m. California Highway Patrol officers say that Gonzalvez walked outside, and was struck on the roadway.
His mother said that as he stepped on the pavement, she reached out to grab him. However, she failed to do so in time and a vehicle struck Gonzalvez.
At this time, officers say they have located the involved vehicle and it is currently being tested for DNA. However, the suspect has not been identified.
Moreover, the mother of Gonzalvez said speeding cars are common near her home. She demands the authorities to do something to avoid a similar incident from happening.
