1 Dead in Montebello Pedestrian Accident on 60 Freeway near Garfield Avenue

MONTEBELLO, CA (September 19, 2024) – Tuesday night, Adwale Oyedokun, died in a brutal pedestrian crash on 60 Freeway.

The incident occurred at 10:38 p.m. on Pomona (60 Freeway) near the Garfield Avenue off-ramp.

Officers discovered the injured pedestrian along with a vehicle obstructing one lane of the freeway, according to the CHP.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the victim as 29-year-old Oyedokun, though his city of residence remains unknown. 

The CHP issued a Sigalert, closing three eastbound lanes of the freeway for several hours as they conducted their investigation into the collision’s cause.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
