VENTURA COUNTY, CA (May 9, 2023) – Sunday morning authorities arrested Adrian Garcia after a startling DUI crash on 101 Freeway.

The incident started at around 2:00 a.m. when authorities received reports regarding a wrong-way driver on the 101 Freeway near Telephone Road.

According to reports, the driver of a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant refused to pull over and fled after being struck by a CHP vehicle.

Then, a patrol vehicle struck the side of the Mitsubishi, but the suspect vehicle continued northbound. However, a 1998 Toyota Avalon swerved and crashed after avoiding a collision with the Mitsubishi. Also, the suspect vehicle finally came to rest after it attempted to turn through the center median.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the Toyota driver sustained minor injuries in the crash. Then, officers arrested the Mitsubishi driver, 22-year-old Garcia for DUI.

Furthermore, officers booked the suspect into the Ventura County Main Jail for DUI causing injury, driving with a blood alcohol level greater than .08%, and driving into oncoming traffic.
