41-Year-Old San Lorenzo Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Crash at Carroll Road

DUBLIN, CA (June 6, 2018) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Altamont Pass Road, early Wednesday morning. He was later identified by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office as 41-year-old Adrian Avalos of San Lorenzo.

According to California Highway Patrol, the accident took place at 6:34 AM on Altamont Pass Road at Carroll Road. Avalos was riding his motorcycle northbound on Altamont.

At the same time, an unidentified Tracy woman was driving southbound in a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. She attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Carroll when the motorcycle went into the path of the car and crashed into the windshield.

Responding officers found Avalos on the round, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female driver was not arrested and authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident. The CHP shut down Altamont Pass Road in the eastbound direction for about 90 minutes but the roadway was passable just before 8:30 AM. The westbound direction remained open.

A GoFundMe page was set up to help his 6-year-old daughter’s future. Click on the link to donate.
