Adrian Alejandro Cruz Killed in Interstate 25 Collision [Sierra County, NM]

Sierra County, NM (July 21, 2024) – Adrian Alejandro Cruz of El Paso and another have been killed in an Interstate 25 collision late Thursday night.

The fatal vehicle crash happened before 11 p.m. near Miler Marker 59.

Investigators determined one commercial truck was northbound on the freeway when it struck an elk in the middle of the road.

The impact of the collision caused the northbound truck to swerve to the left, through the median barrier, and onto the southbound lanes. 

The northbound truck then collided with the truck driven by Cruz.

Both trucks caught fire and became completely burned trucks.

Responding officers declared Cruz and another driver deceased in the collision.

The New Mexico State Police officers are investigating this collision.
