3 Injured in Thousand Palms Motorcycle Crash
Thousand Palms, CA (March 31, 2023) – On Thursday, Adolph Madrid, 51, of Santa Ana, sustained fatal injuries following an Interstate 10 collision.
The firefighters responded to the crash scene at around 9:30 a.m. near Monterey Avenue.
According to the accident report, a group of motorcycles were eastbound on the freeway when the 2021 Harley-Davidson driven by Madrid with his 49-year-old female passenger swerved left and collided into the center median metal guardrail.
Madrid and his passenger were ejected from the motorcycle which also overturned.
Immediately, the paramedics rushed Madrid to Eisenhower Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. The woman, on the other hand, was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
Moreover, a 2012 Harley Davidson occupied by two was behind Madrid’s motorcycle, and as a result of the initial crash, the 2012 Harley-Davison lost control and overturned onto the roadway,.
The 56-year-old man driving that motorcycle was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries and his 46-year-old female passenger sustained minor injures and was not transported to a hospital.
CHP is investigating if alcohol or drugs were factors in the Thousand Palms motorcycle crash.
