Adolfo Subiria Involved in Fatal Car Car Accident on 99 Freeway
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 21, 2019) – A 41-year-old man from Dillon Montana died Friday morning in a fatal car accident on the 99 Freeway.
The crash occurred around 11:59 AM, on the 99 Freeway. First responders arrived at South Union Avenue, just north of Herring Road shortly after.
Officials stated that the male traveling in a southbound 2009 Kia Optima at the time. The Kia reportedly stalled in the far right lane for unknown reasons.
As a result, a 2011 Freightliner semi-truck driven by 49-year-old Adolfo Subiria, hit the back of the car as a result. Due to the impact, the vehicle was pushed onto the westbound side of the on-ramp.
According to reports, the semi was hauling a 53-foot trailer which ended up partially jackknifed due to the collision.
Medics later pronounced the driver dead at the scene as a result of the accident. However, the victim’s identity has not yet been released at this time.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened. Authorities are still currently considering alcohol and drugs as possible factors in the collision. Police are asking if anyone may have witnessed the accident to call (661) 396-6600.
