Two Riders Collide into Big Rig in Fresno, One Dead and Another in Critical Condition
FRESNO, CA (August 3, 2019) – One motorcyclist was killed and another was in critical condition after both collided into a big rig Saturday afternoon in Fresno.
The crash happened around 2:25 p.m. near Jennifer and Shaw avenues. The motorcyclists were riding separate motorcycles without passengers.
According to reports, the two riders attempted to pass a vehicle in front of them when they approached the intersection. At the same time, the big rig was making a turn at the crossing. The riders ended up crashing into the big rig.
One of the bikes burst into flames, but a Good Samaritan was able to extinguish the fire and help the rider.
Emergency crews arrived soon after and performed CPR on both riders, before transporting them to Community Regional Medical Center.
Sadly, one of the riders did not survive and was declared dead. The victim was later identified as Adnan Nijmeddin, 25, of Fresno.
The other rider remained hospitalized in critical condition.
The driver of the big rig was not injured.
Shaw Avenue near Golden State Boulevard was closed off for a brief time while law enforcement conducted their investigation.
