Addison Parker Killed in DUI Crash on Iowa Street [Bellingham, WA]

Bellingham, WA (September 30, 2021) – On Tuesday, Addison Parker, 28, died, while officers arrested 24-year-old Oscar Bengoa-Alas, in a suspected DUI crash on Iowa Street.

The fatal crash took place just before 9 p.m. at the Woburn Street and Yew Street intersection.

Witnesses said that two cars were racing east on Iowa Street when one of the vehicles’ driver lost control and struck a tree.

Police found the driver, Bengoa-Alas, walking near the crash scene with blood on his face. Investigating officers said he appeared to have been driving under the influence of alcohol.

Unfortunately, Bengoa-Alas’ passenger, Addison J. Parker of Bothell, died at the accident scene. Police also confirmed the death of one other passenger.

Rescuers took Bengoa-Alas to a hospital for treatment. Then, they later booked him into Whatcom County Jail for investigation of DUI and vehicular homicide.
