Adan Medina-Torres Arrested, Deputies Struck in French Camp Wrong-Way Crash
FRENCH CAMP, CA (October 7, 2019) — A 23-year-old suspect identified as Adan Medina-Torres was arrested on Friday, October 4.
Just before midnight, two San Joaquin County Sheriffs deputies in a patrol unit drove south on 5 Freeway near French Camp Road. Then a vehicle driven by Adan Medina-Torres struck them.
The force of the incident caused the patrol car to leave the roadway. It came to a stop on the west embankment.
Two Stockton Police Department officers stopped to give aid.
Medina-Torres tried to leave the scene and officers described him as combative.
CHP rushed to the area and arrested Medina-Torres. They booked him into the San Joaquin County Jail. He was charged with felony DUI, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
Both deputies involved in the incident receive treatments and were released at a local hospital.
