Speeding Car Crashes into Tree on 80 Freeway in Vacaville Killing the Driver
VACAVILLE, CA (January 11, 2020) – A man was killed following a high-speed crash Saturday night in Vacaville, police said.
The crash happened around 6:20 p.m. on 80 Freeway, just east of Cherry Glen Road off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray Infiniti sedan was traveling west at a high rate of speed. It then went off the right shoulder and slammed into a tree.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Solano County Coroner’s office identified him as Adam Stubbs, 39, of Fairfield.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
