BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 25, 2018) – On Sunday night around 8:30 PM, a head-on collision on Highway 43 just north of Wasco Avenue, resulted in five deaths and one injury.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 47-year-old woman in a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on the 43, when she crossed into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a Hyundai Sonata.

The unidentified woman was pronounced dead on the scene, including four people inside of the Hyundai: Adam Garza, 40; Kaleb Garza, 19; Madysyn Garza, 14; and Jordan Garza, 11. 17-year-old Ethan Garza suffered serious injuries and was flown into the Kern Medical Center for treatment.
