Deadly Big Rig Crash on Highway 99 in Acampo
ACAMPO, CA (December 5, 2018) – At least one person was killed following a big rig crash late Wednesday evening in Acampo, CHP officials said.
The crash happened around 10:10 p.m. on Highway 99 at Woodbridge Road off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the big rig went off the roadway and through a barbed wire fence. Another vehicle pulled to the side, unknown if involved in the crash. Several debris were scattered on the roadway.
While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, a coroner was dispatched to the scene and confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the incident. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
