Abel Almanza Arrested after Auto Accident on Hosking Avenue and H Street [Bakersfield, CA]

BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 24, 2020) – Authorities arrested Abel Almanza following an auto accident on Hosking Avenue on June 19.
 
At about 10:29 a.m., the officers responded to Hosking Avenue and South H Street for a traffic crash.
 
According to some witnesses, a car fell into a canal following a crash. Meanwhile, the other involved car escaped the crash scene.
 
Two adults occupied the vehicle when it fell into the canal. Fortunately, the two individuals didn’t suffer any injury. Both of them managed to exit the car and the canal.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities located the other driver, 35-year-old Abel Almanza. They found him on Wible Road and Barber at about 10:45 a.m.
 
A man was arrested this morning after intentionally colliding with a vehicle and causing it to go into a canal.

After further investigation, the authorities determined that before the crash, Almanza and the other driver were in a road rage in Ming Avenue and Highway 99.
 
Thus, Almanza followed the other car and tried to run them off the road multiple times as they traveled south on Highway 99. The driver then exited the freeway and drove onto Hosking Road.
 
Meanwhile, Almanza kept following the vehicle. Then, he purposely hit the victim’s car from behind. As a result, the car went into the canal.
 
The police arrested Abel Almanza and booked him into the Kern County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
