Aaron Marlowe and Sole Mitchell-Hall Killed in Long Beach Wrong-Way Accident
LONG BEACH, CA (July 26, 2021) – Sunday morning, Aaron Marlowe and Sole Mitchell-Hall died in a 91 Freeway head-on crash.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 5:29 a.m. on 91 Freeway and Atlantic Avenue on-ramp.
Reports revealed that a westbound 2016 Honda traveled on the eastbound lanes. Then, it collided head-on with a 2016 Chrysler at the Atlantic Avenue on-ramp. One of the vehicles involved started catching fire after the incident.
Furthermore, officials confirmed that the 21-year-old female Honda driver, Mitchell-Hall, and the female Chrysler driver, Ms. Marlowe, died in the incident.
Moreover, officers said that the Honda traveled at speeds over 90 miles per hour at the time of the accident.
Meanwhile, Caltrans closed the westbound lanes of 91 Freeway from Atlantic Avenue. Also, they closed the northbound connector from the 710 Freeway for several hours.
All lanes have long since reopened.
